If you suffer from frequent urination, then you might be making these mistakes

If you constantly run to the bathroom day and night to empty your bladder, you have frequent urination problems. Frequent urination can be due to many reasons. This problem can be stressful and upsetting but can be treated by a medical professional.

Here are some mistakes you may be making that lead to frequent urination:

  • Not emptying your bladder: When you are in a hurry, incomplete emptying of your bladder can lead to many problems. Incomplete emptying of the bladder leads to the accumulation of urine in your bladder, which can cause problems such as urinary infections. It can also cause more serious and painful problems like bladder stones. So take an extra minute in the bathroom, but empty your bladder completely to avoid frequent urination.
  • Excessive consumption of caffeine and alcohol: Almost all urinary complaints are consequences of poor hydration. If the urine is light and clear, then you are drinking the right amount of water. But if the urine is dark, then you are dehydrated. Smell and pain when emptying the bladder is another sign that you are not adequately hydrated. Not drinking enough water can lead to kidney stones and urinary tract infections. When you drink more caffeine and alcohol, the urine becomes concentrated and can result in kidney or bladder stones.
  • You have an infection or kidney stones: Both urinary tract infections and kidney stones can inflame the bladder which makes you feel like you have to urinate more often. If you are experiencing back or pelvic muscle pain, you must consult a doctor as it could be a sign of kidney stones.
  • Pay attention to your diet: Avoid foods and beverages that irritate your bladder, including coffee, tea, and carbonated drinks. Spicy food and food that is acidic in nature like oranges, lemons, and fruit juices can also cause the problem. Tomato-based products can sometimes cause frequent urination. So if you are facing the problem of frequent urination, it's better to avoid citrus and spicy foods.
  • You have diabetes: Diabetes can also be the reason for frequent urination. If your blood sugar is high, your kidneys will not be able to process it, resulting in more urination. This is the reason you must get your blood sugar level checked regularly and keep them under control.

These are some tips by which you can avoid and control the problem of frequent urination, as frequent urination can affect your schedule, confidence, and overall quality of life.
